Stage Snapshot
Sophomore year is when your student's interests and strengths begin to become clearer. The courses they select this spring will shape their junior-year schedule and can influence the options available to them in senior year. Meanwhile, the activities they continue, explore, or move away from can help them discover which interests they want to explore more deeply.
This is a good time to start thinking more intentionally about college, without feeling pressured to make final decisions. Focus on choosing appropriate courses, developing meaningful involvement in a few activities, and beginning to understand what college might cost your family.
The goal isn't to have everything figured out. It's to make thoughtful choices now that give your student more options as junior year approaches.
