Privacy Policy

Depending on how you use My Roadmap to College, you may provide information such as:

• your email address and account information;
• purchase information, including your email address at checkout, the product you bought, and payment references and status from Stripe (we do not receive your full card number);
• information you choose to provide about a student, including their name, school, graduation year, academic information, activities, awards, leadership, service, work experience, and other college-planning information;
• information you save in the College Journey Portfolio;
• checklist progress you choose to save while signed in, such as which Roadmap checklist items you have marked complete;
• communications you send to us, including questions, feedback, or support requests; and
• your email address if you choose to receive updates or other communications from us.

You decide what information to enter into the College Journey Portfolio. You do not need to provide information that is not useful to your family's college-planning process.

We use information we collect to:

• provide and operate My Roadmap to College and the College Journey Portfolio;
• create and maintain user accounts;
• save and retrieve information you choose to store in the College Journey Portfolio;
• process and manage purchases, and deliver paid products, including emailing access links;
• keep you signed in and let you reach the products you have purchased;
• respond to questions, support requests, and feedback;
• send communications you have requested or agreed to receive;
• understand how people use the website and improve the product; and
• protect the security and integrity of our services.

We do not use the contents of your College Journey Portfolio for advertising.

My Roadmap to College is designed primarily to help parents and families navigate the college-planning process. The College Journey Portfolio allows users to voluntarily organize information that may relate to a student.

Because this information can include personal information about a student, we encourage users to enter only information that is useful for college planning and recordkeeping.

The service is not intended for children under 13. Children under 13 should not create an account or provide personal information through the service.

Payments for paid products are processed by third-party payment provider Stripe. We do not directly store your complete credit or debit card number.

Stripe processes payment information according to its own privacy practices.

When you check out, Stripe also asks for billing address details (for example, your country and postal code). Stripe collects and processes this information to complete your payment and to calculate any taxes that apply, under its own privacy practices.

You can check out without first signing in. In that case, Stripe collects your email address and payment details at checkout. We receive your email address, the product you bought, and Stripe's payment and customer references, and we use your email address to deliver access to what you bought.

We do not use passwords. To sign in, we email you a link to your email address. When you sign in, our authentication provider sets cookies in your browser that keep you signed in and are needed for your account to work. We do not set advertising cookies.

We use third-party service providers to operate parts of the service, such as website hosting, database and authentication services, payment processing, email delivery, and website analytics.

Our current providers include Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (hosting and website analytics).

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to us.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may collect limited information about how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed, features used, and actions taken within the product. We use this information to understand whether the Roadmap is useful and to improve the experience.

We do not intentionally send the written contents of College Journey Portfolio entries to our website analytics provider.

If you choose to receive updates from My Roadmap to College, we may use your email address to send information about the Roadmap, college-planning resources, product updates, or related communications.

You may unsubscribe from optional marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe option included in those messages.

Account, authentication, purchase, security, or other service-related communications may still be sent when necessary to provide the service.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the information stored through our service. However, no online service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining access to the email account used to sign in to My Roadmap to College.

We retain information as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain appropriate business records, comply with legal obligations, and protect the security and integrity of the service.

A refund or loss of access to a paid product does not automatically delete information previously stored in the College Journey Portfolio.

To ask for a copy of, or access to, the information we hold about you, or to request deletion of your account and associated information, email us at hello@myroadmaptocollege.com.

We may retain limited information when required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate business purposes. Payment records are also held by Stripe under its own policies.

We handle these requests by email and may ask you to write from the email address on the account so we can confirm it is yours.

The Roadmap includes links to colleges, government agencies, testing organizations, financial-aid resources, and other third-party websites that we believe may be useful to families.

We do not control those websites or their privacy practices. Their own privacy policies and terms apply when you visit them.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date on this page and take additional steps to notify users when appropriate.
