Stage Snapshot
Receiving college decisions can bring excitement, relief, disappointment, and a new set of questions. Admission offers may arrive at different times, and each college may present financial aid, scholarships, enrollment requirements, and deadlines differently.
This stage is about understanding what each available option really means for your student and your family. Compare the actual cost of attendance, review scholarship and financial aid conditions, revisit academic and personal fit, and identify any questions that need answers before making a commitment. The goal isn't to find a perfect college, but to make an informed decision based on what matters most to your family.
If your student was admitted through a binding Early Decision plan, the process works differently. Review the admission and financial aid terms carefully, follow the college's enrollment instructions, and complete any required withdrawal of other applications. If the financial aid package makes attendance unaffordable, contact the college promptly to discuss your options before taking further action.
Once your family has made its decision, the focus shifts to confirming enrollment and keeping track of the next deadlines, including housing, orientation, scholarships, and other requirements that may begin before the summer.
